Since 2004, Coredination offers professional and enjoyable classes in Pilates, yoga and ballet in the heart of Carbondale, Colorado. Our mission is to impart our experience as professional ballet dancers and credentials as certified yoga and Pilates instructors to bring high quality movement training and technique to youth, teens and adults. We provide both coaching and performance opportunities, drawing from our training and the roles we have danced, now developed into instinctual resources unique to our teaching.
ABOUT OUR TEACHERS:
Alexandra is a former professional ballet dancer and certified pilates instructor. With a lifetime devoted passionately to dance and Pilates training as well as spotlight-stealing ballet performances and choreography, Alexandra Jerkunica has stayed true to what inspires her most. Understanding the value behind proper mind-body alignment, body awareness and kinetics, she offers her vast expertise to help Coredination clients and Bonedale Ballet dancers reach their true potential and their true form.
More about Anthony: In the last 14 years, Local Professional and Artistic Contributions: Anthony has been invited to dance in leading roles and duets and choreograph with all dance companies and schools valley wide. He enjoyed a principal role in Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet as well as a lead role in A Rodeo with the Glenwood Dance Academy and Dance Arts Theatre, where he co-choreographed and danced with David Taylor. As co-founder, he helped give traction to Dance Initiative and Dance for Us, and both he and his wife Alexandra put the “D” in dance in Carbondale Council for Arts and Humanities' "Green is the New Black" Fashion Show. Anthony co-founded Coredination, A Movement studio in 2004 and currently teaches yoga and Pilates (morphed movement passions) at CMC, Coredination and Aspen Glen.
Anthony is a former professional ballet dancer and certified in RIE Vinyasa Flow. He has a lifetime relationship with dance and dance partner and wife Alexandra, whose shared passion continues to arch skyward into present day Bonedale Ballet, are unique and systemic byproducts of love and dedication to years of training and professional experience.
His philosophy about dance and movement: Enroll in classes with qualified, experienced professionals, who practice regularly and know movement beyond passion for it; who can coach you in roles they either danced themselves or have an idea of what a quality finished product looks like. Local Professional and Artistic Contributions
Jeannine Stickle : When she was nine years old, Jeannine’s parents enrolled her in dance classes and she has never stopped dancing since. She has taken tap, jazz, ballet, and modern classes, but tap dance has always been her very favorite, and has learned from some truly awesome tap teachers throughout the years. Jeannine grew up in the Bay Area, lived in the Pacific Northwest for a decade, and then moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2013, in search of sunshine and great skiing. When she is not dancing, Jeannine loves to ski, read, and play the ukulele. Currently, she is the records manager for the City of Aspen and has been teaching tap at Coredination & Bonedale Ballet for 3 years and enjoys choreographing and performing in their bi-annual dance productions.
Cristina Akers was born and raised in Orange County, CA where she began dancing at the age of 20 when her college friend "dared" her to take a ballet class. Sold! She began training at the Hirschl School of Dance Arts and later at Anaheim Ballet. She has performed for numerous years as a dancer and specialty performer in the Disneyland Entertainment department, including roles in The Electrical Parade, Celebrate- 50th Anniversary Parade, and A Christmas Fantasy. She was also a company member of the Hamazkayin Ani Dance Company in Glendale, CA, performing traditional and contemporary Armenian dances. She currently studies under the tutelage of Alexandra Jerkunica at the Coredination and Bonedale Ballet, and performs in the Carbondale Fashion Show yearly.
Sydney Brown grew up in the Vail valley and moved to the Roaring Fork Valley about 3 years ago. She started ballet as a toddler with the Vail Dance Academy, but moved into more outdoor sports as a kid. She taught swimming for 4 years at the Gypsum Rec Center. Sydney recently renewed her love for dance almost a year and a half ago by the prompting of her husband, Ezra. She was recently married in 2017 and spends her weekends exploring the Western US with her husband. Sydney studies ballet with Bonedale Ballet and enjoys performing in their local dance performances.
Carolyn Yates grew up in Silverthorne, CO and danced with Summit School of Dance through her formative years. She went on to receive a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. She also holds multiple certifications in teaching yoga with over 500 hours of training. Over the last two decades Carolyn has shifted her focus between dance and yoga several times. During these periods of time she has danced with professional companies, choreographed for regional shows - large and small, offered instruction in jazz, modern, choreography and yoga, run a small yoga studio, taught for yoga festivals and brought two more little movers and shakers into the world.Carolyn is passionate about the study of movement and loves to cross reference her yoga and dance backgrounds bringing her students a fresh take on learning how to be in their bodies and move with awareness and joy! Her working theory is that we are all born to dance and she strives to bring out that confidence in all who wish to express themselves through movement.
